Does an NFC business card interfere with credit cards in your wallet?
An NFC business card won't corrupt or damage your credit cards. However, carrying multiple NFC/RFID-enabled cards in the same wallet can occasionally cause 'card collision' at payment terminals — the reader picks up multiple cards simultaneously and gets confused.
Card collision at payment terminals
Modern contactless payment terminals are designed to handle multiple cards and select the correct one, but it doesn't always work perfectly. If you tap your wallet to pay and both your credit card and your NFC business card are adjacent, the terminal might try to read both and fail. This is easily solved by removing the NFC business card from your wallet before paying contactlessly, or keeping it in a separate card slot.
Your credit card data is safe
NFC business cards are passive read-only tags that don't write data to other cards. Your credit card magnetic stripe and chip are not affected by proximity to an NFC tag. The only practical issue is reader interference, not data corruption.
Can an NFC business card accidentally charge my credit card?
No. NFC business cards have no ability to initiate transactions. They only respond to readers by sending a URL.
Should I keep my NFC card in a separate slot from my credit cards?
It's a good practice, especially if you use contactless payments frequently. This prevents any reader confusion when you tap to pay.
Can a Faraday wallet block an NFC business card?
Yes. A Faraday wallet blocks all RF signals, including NFC business card reads. Use a standard wallet and remove the card when needed.
